도시재생 선도사업 13개 모델 중, 이 연구는 창신·숭인, 성수1·2가동, 가리봉동, 해방촌 등 네 개의 근린재생 지역에 초점을 맞춘다. 연구는 도시재생 사업에 참여한 지역 주민, 현장지원센터 관계자, 지역 활동가 등의 시각을 통해 도시재생 사업의 성과를 분석한다. 또한, 다음 두 가지 핵심 질문을 중심으로 연구를 진행한다.

Among the 13 leading models of urban regeneration projects, this study focuses on four neighborhood regeneration areas—Changsin-Sungin, Seongsu 1 and 2 Ga-dong, Garibong-dong, and Haebangchon. It examines the outcomes of urban regeneration projects through the eyes of participants, including local residents, field center staff, and community activists who were involved in these projects. The research addresses two main questions:
1. What motivated the participants' involvement in the urban regeneration projects, and what did they expect from these initiatives?
2. What changes did those who actively participated in the urban regeneration projects observe and experience?
