국립중앙도서관 「2026년 6월 사서추천도서」 사회과학 분야에 **『소멸하지 않는 도시』**가 선정되었습니다.
이 책은 인구 감소와 지방 소멸이라는 현실 앞에서 “도시는 어떻게 살아남을 수 있는가?“라는 질문에서 출발했습니다.
세계 여러 도시의 사례를 통해 도시의 경쟁력이 규모나 개발이 아니라 사람과 문화, 그리고 매력에 있다는 이야기를 담았습니다.
책을 쓰는 동안 품었던 문제의식이 더 많은 독자들에게 전달될 수 있게 되어 매우 뜻깊게 생각합니다.

We are pleased to share that Dr. Shinwon Kyung's book, The City That Does Not Disappear (소멸하지 않는 도시), has been selected as one of the National Library of Korea's Librarians' Recommended Books for June 2026.
The book explores how cities can survive and thrive in an era of population decline and regional shrinkage, moving beyond growth-oriented development toward the idea of creating attractive and sustainable cities.
